Turntable Spider
A 290mm diameter plastic moulding incorporating 8 plastic rollers & 12 steel ball bearings. Capacity 100kg. This item is especially useful if a 'lift off' turntable is required.
It will be necessary to provide smooth bearing surfaces (top & bottom) ideally melamine but chipboard, ply or MDF also work well. The builder will also need to provide a centre pivot to provide a positive location, perhaps a bolt or stud, depending on the turntable design.
For supporting the outboard edges of large turntables or sector plates see rollers (FTB003).
This turntable spider is intended for use in the fiddle yard area, rather than the scenic areas of the model train baseboard.
